The system of Azimuth Guidance for
approach complies with ICAO recommendations in Annex 14, Volume I, paragraphs 5.3.4 and
French STNA standards.
-
The system comprises of 2 'flashing' units(master and slave)
located symmetrically on both sides of the runway (or TLOF for
heliport) threshold.
- The pilot will be on the axis +/- 45ยบ when the two 'flashes' are
simultaneous.
- The SAGA system is powered in 230Vac
50/60Hz and equipped with 12Vac, 100W pre-focussed reflector lamps.
- The system is remotely controlled in
48Vdc and monitoring is possible through 2 dedicated dry contacts.
- The system will be automatically
put out of service if at least one of its two 'flashing' units becomes
defective.
- The body, cap and support of the
'flashing' unit are aluminium alloy, phosphated and painted in aviation
yellow.
- All fixings and fastenings are stainless
steel.
- The legs of the 'flashing' units are
frangible.
- The power supply box is made of
reinforced polyester and IP64 rated.
